Sunrise Yoga!

Happy Humpday Followers!

My newest recommendation for all of you in Sunrise/ early morning yoga!
Yoga itself is a relaxing practice, that helps you energize, strengthen and stretch your muscles.

Getting your yoga practice done in the morning will give you all the energy you need for your day. This is a great way to get your workout into your day in the morning and start your day feeling accomplished. I love to practice yoga and the mornings are definitely my favorite.

Try it out & let me know what you think!

Shake, Shake, Shakeology

This morning I started out my day with Shakeology meal replacement shake!

First, I want to say that this is definitely a sufficient breakfast. Many people believe that without having real food, you will be hungry within an hour of eating, but that is not the case. Packed with protein, amino acids, tons of vitamins and whatever you add to it, this shake fills you up in replacement of a meal.

I've tried these a bunch of times, and have done the 3-day cleanse, but the best tasting way is adding it to a shake like you would with protein powder.

Having the powder with water, in my opinion, does NOT taste good, so I tried to add some healthy ingredients to make it taste better.

I have the chocolate powder, so if you have that, or the vanilla, this recipe will work for you.

Ingredients:
1) 1 scoop of Shakeology powder
2) 1 tbsp of peanut butter (or almond butter)
3) 1/2 frozen banana (cut up)
4) a few ice cubes
5) drizzle of honey
6) fill the rest of the cup with almond milk

After you add all these ingredients to the cup, you can put it onto the magic bullet and you have your meal replacement for the morning.

You can add these shakes to your diet once a day at any time, or you can do a cleanse-type diet with them. If you're looking for something to kick-start your healthy habits, you can definitely start here.

Habits take 21 days to form... Don't get discouraged!

"Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going." -Jim Ryun

Start the day with this motivational quote & begin forming your healthy habit!
It takes just 21 days to form a habit, but the hardest part is getting started.

A great trick I found on Pinterest is pictured below. Buy a stack of thin Post-Its, number them, and keep them by your desk. Everyday you can take that number off and you will physically see how far you are from your ultimate goal. Try it out!

Start it up today and see your results come to life! Once you form your healthy habit, it will be like second nature, without even having to think about it!

Gotta keep working on those summer bodies, or START if you haven't yet!

Coconut Oil gives you Brain power!

Coconut Oil gives you Brain power!

After reading an article this morning about coconut oil, I have a new found desire to incorporate it into my diet in as many ways as possible.

"Coconut oil stands as the number one source for an all natural brain boost."

You may find it challenging to incorporate an oil into your daily diet, but it can be very simple.
My favorite way to have it is mixed into my smoothies. It has a bit of flavor, but mixed with all the other fruits and veggies, you don't even taste it. This is a simple and easy way to incorporate this super oil into your day.
You can also substitute whichever oil you use for cooking now with coconut oil. Personally, I prefer not to do this, because the oil has a distinct taste, and can alter the taste of what you're cooking. But if you are willing to try it, go for it.
Lastly, you can take a spoonful of coconut oil a day. I tried this for a while and was okay with it, but now I add it to my smoothies instead. The oil has to be heated and is very thick, so taking a spoonful is tough.

Any way you try to add this to your diet is great. Little things like this can help change your lifestyle to a healthier one, & improve brain function for the future.

Start you day the RIGHT way!

Start your day the RIGHT way!

Everyday you should start off with a healthy breakfast to fuel your body for the whole day.

Eating a big, healthy breakfast kickstarts your metabolism for the day. Eat within the first hour of waking up, especially if you have a big test or something important going on that day.

This is my Healthy & Delicious breakfast from this morning:

1) Double protein english muffin with peanut butter and honey.
2) An organic gala apple (which I keep in the refrigerator, because they taste better cold)
3) A bowl of grapes
4) 1 full 16.9 FL OZ water bottle.

Drinking water in the morning will hydrate your body and leave you without that sluggish feeling. The more water the better!

This is just an idea of what you can have for breakfast to start your day the healthy way! Stay away from sugary cereals and breakfast bars in the morning, they will hurt you more than they help. Always remember to keep your body fueled the right way with healthy fruits, veggies and grains.

Welcome back, now get back on track!

Good morning followers!!

I am truly sorry I have not posted in WAY too long, but just like getting back on track with a healthy lifestyle, you have to start somewhere.

Between school and balancing my own life, I have gotten lost in the blogging world, but I have found my way back to motivate you all once again.

"Weight loss is like driving: If you ever veer off the road, just make a U-turn and head back in the right direction."

This quote not only applies to weight loss, but also to a healthy lifestyle, workout plan or many other things. Nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. If you have a bad diet day or skip the gym, don't let it ruin what you have been working for. Chalk it up to a bad day and jump back on tomorrow!

Don't let one slip up or bad day keep you from reaching your goals. A new lifestyle is hard to adopt at first, but once you accomplish it, you will be so happy you stuck with it.

Start Today! Motivate yourself & others around you!

Stay Fit!
